Company Mission
SeaChange Group researches, identifies, develops and
moves to market new low emission fuels for the marine and heavy
industrial power generation industries.
SCG
looks to be a catalyst and facilitator for the significant reduction of unwanted and unsafe
combustion emissions.
Our products are designed to meet or exceed the
forthcoming EPA and MARPOL emission regulations.
Initially, SCG’s focus is on providing low-cost, low-sulfur fuels for the marine industry as alternatives
to heavy fuel oils and marine diesels.
The Company seeks to develop intellectual property and proprietary manufacturing techniques
to service a range of commercial fueling applications. We will manufacture and license our
fuel formulations for enterprises; manufacturers, distributors and end-users.
SeaChange Group is working through close collaboration with academic and research partners at
Maine Maritime Academy and the University of Maine.
The Company is developing further collaborative relationships with research institutions and strategic partners.
Current Project
Development of
Eco-Hybrid Fuel Technology
The company has developed and is protecting its Eco-Hybrid fuel technology. It was developed explicitly to address the need for low emission marine fuels. SCG has received grant funding from the National Science Foundation, U.S. Dept. of Energy and the Maine Technology Institute to bring this technology from proof of concept to the product implementation stage. Our technology utilizes oxygenated fuel components to create stable fuel formulations designed to offer lower fueling costs and reduced emissions in large-bore engine applications. SCG is actively commercializing Eco-Hybrid fuels for the marine, rail and off-road power applications and pursuing early investment to accelerate the go to market timeline.
Development
SCG's focus is the commercialization of low emission fuels for marine and
industrial power generation. Our 5,200s.f. research and development
facility in Bucksport, ME supports engine testing, fuel processing and
chemical laboratory spaces, with close access to academic and
industry partners, for rapid product development.
